SFO: Pictures and Poetry About San Francisco

This is quite the little gem to introduce to our English-language readers, with its infinite interrogation of ordinary humanity yet its intimate love for the cityscape. The translator Korbin Jones has done an excellent job in making sure Luque Pinilla's everyday simplicity of language, yet his beautiful lyric sentiment, is exquisitely translated from the Spanish original.

Ana M. Fores Tamayo, Adjunct Justice

There is an evocation, that of a poetry collection about New York written by a famous poet from Granada.

Luis Correa-Diaz, Novissima Verba

The Spanish poems, their English counterparts, and the accompanying images aren’t redundant... Each approach to San Francisco reveals a different dimension of the city.

Joseph Avski, El infinito se acaba pronto

These many images and poems finally resolve into a complex conversation about what the eye sees and the ear hears... This is a gorgeous, intelligent, meditative book.

Kevin Prufer, How He Loved Them

SFO, poems by Pablo Luque Pinilla, trad. Korbin Jones, pictures by José Luis R. Torrego,  Tolsun Books, Arizona, 2019
